The songs of the Nagarjuna's upcoming movie Don were released at a public function on 5th of December. With Anushka and Nikitha playing the female leads in the movie, this is one of nagarjuna's most anticipated films in the recent times. Though his recent movies were well received, Nagarjuna failed to deliver a bang after Mass, which was a long time ago. Usually Nagarjuna and Venkatesh are the two top heroes who deliver to all kinds of audience and their movies are much awaited in all circles. Lets hope for the movie does its best.

Twenty20 World cup is past and Happy Days is the present next big thing for the young generation. The actors of Happy Days are in a way responsible for the movie's success because they all did justice to the characters they were playing. Happy Days Telugu Movie Review
Review
The movie is not the regular kind of entertainment flick you have seen. Its a movie which tries to entertain you by with the events in the life of students (Engineering students in particular) in a more realistic way. Its not the of movie where the hero impresses people with his bike and gang of friends and the gorgeous heroine falling prey to the bad guys and so on.
Its a neat and clean movie with more importance on feelings, situations and sentiments rather than story and dialogues. You must watch it at least once. Students can't afford to miss the movie. Even for the veterans, it brings back your memories.
Good
- Very realistic situations
- Great music
- Importance on characters and their feelings rather than actors and their talents
- Good mix of sentiments and humor
Bad
- Story gets slow at times and makes the movie boring
- Lack of a proper plot takes the thrill out of the movie
- The artist who dubbed for Kamalini Mukherjee in other movies(Anand, Godavari)was used for the voice of the female lead(Tamanna) while Kamalini Mukherjee used her own voice
- The extra ordinary whiz kid acts of Tyson

Happy Days, was a very talked about movie both before and after release.
After the successful release the film makers have decided to increase the number of prints from 25 to 50.
The director Shekar Kammula known for his different film making style tried a completely new kind of love story this time, not just one love story but you can see 4 love stories.
All the actors in the movie are new faces for the telugu audience.

Waiting for Atithi Release
Well many movies came and went, none of them could make us lead a happier life by enjoying a decent movie. Now its the job of Mahesh Babu's Atithi to make the audience sway. Mahesh's recent movie Sainikudu was really a disaster. The only good thing that someone can mention from the movie is the songs, but don't you dare to watch them, just listen to them. Atithi *seems* to be a good entertainer with Amrita Rao as the female lead. If you are really interested in the movie there are some pictures of Mahesh Babu and Amrita Rao while shooting for Atithi in Delhi. The location where these pictures were taken is Shipra Mall, Noida.
The big 4 of tollywood have not given their dose of entertainment except Venaktesh who did a great job with Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule. Chiranjeevi's Shankardada Zindabad was again not at all watchable. Nagarjuna did not have any movies this year but he seems to be making something huge with Don, the posters have been really awesome. The final one Baliah, I dont think people have any expectaions now-a-days for his films. Its time for Baliah to make something worth while and get back to fame, like Chiranjeevi did with Indra. But again Chiranjeevi is slowly descending down the lane. Lets hope he makes better choices from the next time he selects scripts for his movies and also he should stop highlighting some modification of the famous veena step. Its been a long time since Indra released and yes we agree it was a marvelous dance step then but not now.
There were really bad telugu movies, I mean real really bad movies at the beginning of this year i.e., during the sankranti season lets not hope that happens for this Dushera releases too.
Hoping for a better future (in movie releases).

NTR award for Superstar Krishna and others
The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has announced that they are awarding the held up NTR award for the years 2003, 2004 and 2005. The award for 2003 went to Super Star Krishna !!! Unbelievable.
Ok Krishna was a good actor during his times with huge fan following except that he lacked dancing skills and had an acting style of his own. As long as people love it its not a problem. But an award for him in 2003? WTF did he contribute to the industry in 2003? Playing supportive roles in his son's movies to bring him up was something he was doing lately. He has ceased doing that because Mahesh was quick to realize that his dad's presence is not helping him but in turn is ruining the game for him.
But still the Govt. is Govt. we all know how awkward they behave at times so we have to get along with it for now until someone feels there is a need to revolt.
Shankar Dada Zindabad .... not really
Chirajeevi's Shankar Dada Zindabad, sequel to the famous Shankar Dada MBBS has released recently and the movie doesn't seem to have fared well.
The movie which is a hindi remake of the second movie in the very famous Munna Bhai series has lacked in many aspects of movie making. The songs seem dull and boring, 2 songs are an exception while the heroine was really very bad at acting. This is an example of Posters are Deceiving. Karishma Kotak looked really glamorous in the posters and her personality seemed to have suited the mega star, but please note that glamour does not come with acting skills. Acting is quite different from looking beautiful. While looking hot and sexy adds to the heroine, lack of acting skills doens't make her suitable to be a heroine at all.
Its not just the heroine, the movie overall was not at all watchable. In case you have already seen the original hindi version, don't even go near the theatre. You won't beleive this, they actually dubbed some scenes as it is from the original version instead of remaking them.
While there were huge expectations for Shankar Dada, the movie didnt match the expectations, even the hardcore fans should have been disappointed. Shankar Dada Zindabad posters released for web were also third grade.

But two of them are exceptionally ugly! I dont know how they couldnt pay attention to the graphic detail in this one, it looks so third grade, its like some teenage kid trying to modify the original Lage Raho Munnabhai wallpaper.
And the second ugly wallpaper / poster focuses on something which is the last thing we would like to look at, Chiranjeevi's belly. Looks like these guys dont know the 1/3rd rule of photography.

Mahesh Babu's Atithi shooting in Delhi

My friend comes to wake me and tell that Mahesh babu has come to Shipra Mall!
Shipra Mall is a shopping mall cum Multiplex in NOIDA, the city on the outskirts of Delhi which is part of the NCR.I was doubtful about the information but what will I loose just to go check out, after all its so close (just a 2 min ride). So we decided to go. We went inside with doubt because there was no hungama around the place, we thought may be its because these people dont know south indian heroes. We were walking inside the mall looking for any activity, then we found four people sitting in plastic chairs near the escalator, usually that place is for people to walk, so we thought it would be Mahesh and crew and crew, yes we were right among them was Mahesh!!! Along with him were Krishna's brother and the director of Atithi.
Though we knew the information before hand we were surprised to see Mahesh there and immediately went to him as there was no crowd around him. Mahesh shook hands with us and smiled, while we were about to ask him for a picture his makeup guy came to us and took us out of there. Damn!
Within a few minutes, everything was setup for a shoot and Mahesh moved to the ground floor of the mall, we took some pictures from first floor. Suddenly we spotted Amrita Rao!! She was hurrying somewhere, so we stayed at the scene.
They finished the shot in about 20 mins and packed, Mahesh was taken through a back door to his A/C van where he rested for a few mins and came back for another shot, in the mean time we met with the Director of the movie Surendar Reddy, he was very modest and answered some of our questions, like expected release date(some where in April) and number of scenes being shot here(four).
Mahesh is now back from his van and waited while they setup the lighting, this time Amrita Rao was also in the scene and now there is huge crowd, becasue Amrita Rao has done some decent roles in Bollywood including her 'Main Hoon Na' with SRK and Sushmita.

We took an Autograph, then we took one of my north indian friends to Mahesh, he wanted to show mahesh that he remebers his pokiri dialogue "Evadu kodite dimma tirigi mind block aipodoo vade pandugadu"
Mahesh was laughing all the time when my friend was saying this dialogue and the other crew members were smiling and a seemed bit surprised to hear a north indian say a telugu dialogue.
Actually when you make a good movie, language wont be a barrier, this is the reason why foreign language film category is included in the Oscars. Many of my friends liked Siddharth's Boys too and some enquired about Bommarillu because the movie was screend at theaters in Indore, agra... Siddharth has some fan following here because he starred in Rang De Basanti. Lets hope Mahesh gets a good opportunity like that once.

Recent Movies IV
Annavaram
*ing Pawan Kalyan, Asin
The best in the series of movies and comes as a transition between the worst movies of the recent past and new expectations of the future.
It is one of those movies where the Hero does all the acting and uses the heroine just to dance with in the songs and some love scenes sprinkled here and there. The director must have thought of this when making the film.
Well it was a big relief for fans as Pawan Kalyan got off his flop rally and finally made a normal film so they are obviously pretty excited about it and are trying to propogate a good talk among the audience but a typical viewer wouldnt agree.
Initially Pawan loves his sister and we better call her the female lead because Asin was almost never given a chance to act except in the songs. Few songs were neatly picturised though and Pawan looks to be back to normal style like in Kushi avoiding his double pants and stuff.
Pawan then eliminates all the culprits in Hyderebad city so that his nephew can lead a happy life after he is born! Isnt that something to be thought of? You can never eliminate the bad just like that unless you try something like in Batman Begins but still he does.
You can call it an average flick and for Pawan Kalyan fans it comes as a much awaited relief. Now its time to look forward to the future.

Recent Movies III

Rakhi is not a typical NTR movie, by typical I mean movie not always progressing, you can almost always expect a flash back and some heroic deeds in the flash back, presently lives a modest life somewhere else.......
This movie concentrates on sister sentiment and only sister sentiments which makes it boring for young men. The women might be impressed accepting the fact that men and women are not the same and will never have the same tastes and interests.
You can clearly notice NTR drifting away from his typical action roles to a sentimental role in this one. The film can be touching for people who beleive in the vaules of the system.
The difference here is that in the other movies the hero looks better than his previous films and performs better but NTR looks really beast like and his new hair style adds to the mess. He should think about it and go for some makeover and look a bit hero like before he returns to films.
NTR and Ileana combination, you would never have imagined this but it just happened so we have to bear with it.
Finally, this movie ranks better than the other two (Sainikudu, Katharnak)

Well you can consider this the worst of the 4 movies. While Sainikudu had some quality content but lacked to put it together this movie had nothing new/interesting in it. Most of the sequences were copied from the SRK movie Main Hoon Na and some scenes took the concept the hindi movie and tried to modify them so that they appeal to Telugu audience which unfortunately didnt.
Most of the scenes can be called boring, you can easily guess whats going to be said next in the scene or how the hero is going to take control of the scene thus making it more boring.
Ileana looked good but didnt suit the role of a school teacher, Sushmita Sen plays the role in Main Hoon Na. She looks unimpressive in the songs with her skeletal personality which is ofcourse a personality the young try to acheive, to look SEXY!
Ali and Venu madhva were cast in good roles but the boring scenes and jokes never used their talent to make the audience feel lighter.
To summarise you can avoid a few hours of frustration if you avoid the movie.

You might have already read reviews and probably even watched these movies. All four should be considered sub standard movies but if you ask me to choose the best of the 4 its for Annavaram, dont confuse it with the best movie ever, its only the best among the 4 worst movies realeased in the recent past.

Movie was meaning less, you cant actually call it a movie, completely out of sequence, serials in Gemini or ETV are better. The audio was really good but again when you copy a hit song its chances of being good are really high. Thats how they played safe. One of them had a Dil Se tune copied and the other was a Michael Jackson song.
You cant talk about other aspects of the movie because there are no other aspects, no meaningful story, no good acting, no good roles, no nothing!
The graphics were over hyped and were looking really unusual and completely relationless. Who uses fading graphics in songs now a days?
You wont beleive this, the background score was also copied, from Pirates of Carribean: The curse of the black pearl and not just for one time, which makes the music director unworthy of any mention here
You cant even guess when the movie is going to end, you will desperately be waiting for it to end though.
If you check the internet for reviews you might have wondered why idlebrain.com has not reviewed Sainikudu!
